Supporting local wildlife in the northern rivers of NSW

Koala Wildlife Corridor

Koala Wildlife Corridor

Bangalow Koalas Wildlife Corridor is taking shape. To date we have planted 336,000 trees since 2019, 120 plantings on 90 properties across 6 shires in the Northern Rivers of NSW. Over the last 6 years we have been successful in numerous grants including Australian Federal Government Bushfire Recovery grant and Black Summer Bushfire Recovery grant, National Landcare, Environmental Trust, NRCF, Ingrained Foundation, Byron Shire Community Initiatives, IFAW, Saving our Species, DPIE – Fisheries grant, NSW Government DPE, WWF Regenerate Australia, One Tree Planted and Wild Ark to name a few.

We have visited properties in Bangalow, Ewingsdale, Coopers Shoot, Newyrbar, Possum Creek, Binna Burra, Federal, Rosebank, Nashua, Clunes, Booyong, Bexhill, Corndale, Coorabell, Talofa, Numulgi, Swan Bay, Coraki, East Wardell, Fernleigh, Bungawalbin, Ettrick, Dyraaba, Myrtle Creek, Pumpenbil to name a few. What follows is consultations with ecologists, bush regenerators and quotes for work required. For self-funding we can plan a date to plant. For those needing financial assistance we are constantly writing grants and fundraising.

We have planted 53,000 trees in 2020, just over 81,000 trees in 2021, 82,648 trees in 2022 and another record breaking 95,948 trees in 2023.  Our short-term goal is to plant 500,000 trees by the end of 2025 to create our koala wildlife corridor across the Northern Rivers.

The ultimate long-term goal is to plant one million trees by end of 2030.
